Do you love to teach? Whether you are working towards your teachers' certification or you are just looking for other ways to use this skill, there are a lot of opportunities available. Here are some options to consider:
Nanny. There is a huge demand for caregivers who will take care of children in their home. This is an excellent opportunity to earn money while also building your skills.
Teaching abroad. If you are interested in seeing the world, teaching abroad may be a great option for you. The requirements vary depending on the region and the type of school. Just make sure that you do your research so that you are well-prepared for the experience.
Tutoring. Tutoring is an excellent way to practice your teaching skills and can pay up to $30 an hour. Also, since you set your own schedule, you can work as little or as much as you want.
Private schools. Many private schools are looking for new teachers and it may be easier than getting a position with the Public or Catholic board. You will gain valuable experience and private schools often have smaller class sizes and more teaching resources.
Counseling. Counseling is a bit different from teaching so you may need to take some extra courses, but the skills are extremely transferable. Some people find working with clients on an individual basis to be more rewarding than teaching in a classroom setting. Counseling allows you to help people in a different way.
Teaching is a skill that can have many different applications. You could also have a lucrative career as a college lecturer or a corporate trainer. The key is to figure out how you want to use your teaching skills and then to gain the required education and experience to be an attractive candidate.
